The training will be held in the Water Research Institute building in the Technion.

In order to get in to the Technion by car, please tell the guards at the gate about your visit purpose - CBIM training.

Also there is no problem getting inside the Technion by private car, we ask you to park outside the Technion since there are no public parking areas available inside.

You can find a parking lot outside the Technion Nesher Gate.

 

About the training

The PhD School on Advanced BIM Applications and Digital Twin Technology is the fourth training event from the Cloud BIM European Training Network, organized by Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

In this training school, participants will learn advanced concepts of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Digital Twin Construction (DTC) through formal lectures. They will also learn about different technological advancements related to the application of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), digital fabrication, and parametric modeling within the context of Cloud BIM through lectures, hands-on workshop and, visits to Construction tech start-ups.

Audience

In addition to the Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) of CBIM, for whom this event is tailored, the training event is open to other qualified Masters and PhD students, post-doctoral research associates, early-career academics, and industry practitioners.

Expected learning outcomes

On completion, the student should be able to:

  • Understand and apply the concept of DTC for improving situational  awareness in construction projects
  • Identify and implement BIM and DTC mediated technological innovations in real construction projects​
  • Apply basic ML and other AI techniques in diverse civil engineering fields
  • Plan research, write, review and edit journal articles and other scientific documents on these topics

The training school will be held at the Technion facilities located in Haifa, Israel. In case of any change in the entry policy to Israel due to  COVID -19 restrictions, the training school will be switched to a virtual format.
